Ferdinand is four months old now, lives in Alabama, and will be transported to a forever home near Stroudsburg, PA. (Your home, maybe?).
His foster family thinks he’s maybe a chi-corgi, and he was only 8 pounds at 3 months, but I’m seeing some pug in the forehead wrinkles and the width of chest. Pug, or maybe puggle, just to make it an all-around designer-dogmill-breeding experiment run amok. Still, he came out cute cute cute, didn’t he?
Wow, did someone let a Corgi and a Pointer get together? I’ve been keeping this blog for some months now, and there’s always some new, unlikely combination to keep me surprised or amused or aghasted.
Boomer is in Lincoln, IL. Just a year and a half old, he’s got to be a good-natured bundle of pure energy. Someone take him home and love him and hug him and teach him many tricks and give him many athletic adventures… And then, all the rest of you, spay your pets, and let this never happen again…
Harry’s a nifty little mutt… I swear from some angles he looks like he has a touch of greyhound in him. Just what the world needed: a super-charged herding machine. No wonder his family calls him “a joy… and a devil.” Good thing he’s a handsome devil, too.

The thing about puppies… you don’t get to have just one. I have some friends who were Corgi breeders who had one female have 40 puppies in four litters - ten, ten, nine and eleven.
Sure, most of us think the world of our dog, and have at least one friend who’s drunk the kool-aid, too, and would take home a puppy if Fluffy got knocked up. But if you had to give away seven puppies? Or eleven? Don’t think that a Corgi can’t pump out a dozen puppies just because it’s little.
Susie the brindle Corgi-mix was one of the lucky ones who found her way back out of the shelter system, as chronicled in this beautiful blog.
A shelter in North Dakota wound up with four 1-2 year-old Corgi-Poms all at the same time. I wonder what horrible and depressing thing happened there.
Ohhh dear. I’ve never seen a chi-corgi go wrong in quite this way. It’s like Madonna is all Chihuahua, except for the double-wide Corgi chest.
